Abbe Barfield
Abbe is focused on developing and implementing long-term cost effective employee benefis
solutuions and strategies for employers. She has relationships with key national and regional
carrier partners in the employee benefit market, including fully-insured and self-funded
carriers, ancillary vendors, stop-loss partners and third-party administrators. Abbe is a
consultative resource in development and support of employer benefit design, including
channeling of care, best in class management of high cost categories, provider transparency
tools, cost effective networks and collective purchasing. She has been integral in the sale and
account management of clients of all industries, including national corporations,
municipalities, associations and school districts.
She has developed her portfolio of employee benefit knowledge with both regional and national
carrier partners over the past 16 years. Abbe served in role as the commercial employer group
sales and client development manger with Health Alliance Medical Plans, overseeing all new
sales and renewals efforts and business strategies. Most recently she was an Account Executive
for HealthLink/Anthem and executed sales strategy for self-funded network solutions.
Abbe has held an Illinois health and life insurance producer license since 2001. She is a member
of the National Association of Health Underwriters and Monticello Rotary.
She enjoys sharing her time and talents with community organziations, especially those
foscused on youth and interests of her sons.
